Walt McLaughlin has backpacked extensively throughout the Northeast during the past twenty-five years. Since receiving a degree in philosophy from Ohio University, he has worked as a bookseller, guide, outfitter and motel clerk. His poetry and prose have appeared in Adirondac, Heron Dance, Vermont Life and many other periodicals. He has several books in print, including a narrative about hiking Vermont´s Long Trail, Forest Under My Fingernails. He and his wife, Judy, live in St. Albans, Vermont.
