by Walt McLaughlin

Back Cover Blurb:

While ruminating about fire, water, mountaineering, geologic time, mountain lions, domestication and wildness, the author delves deeply into the relationships between nature, humanity and the divine. In these informal yet thought-provoking essays, the sacred seems tantalizingly close. Here are McLaughlin´s best essays to date -- the culmination of two decades of writing and reflection, certain to challenge the reader´s perception of the natural world and our place in it.

The Allure of Mountains
Phantoms of the Wild

Walking the Brook
