WOOD THRUSH BOOKS -- ESSAYS |

Back Cover Blurb:
While ruminating about fire, water, mountaineering, geologic time, mountain lions, domestication and wildness, the author delves deeply into the relationships between nature, humanity and the divine. In these informal yet thought-provoking essays, the sacred seems tantalizingly close. Here are McLaughlin´s best essays to date -- the culmination of two decades of writing and reflection, certain to challenge the reader´s perception of the natural world and our place in it.Essays in the Collection:

Walt McLaughlin roams the northern New England backcountry and Adirondack wilds whenever he isn't working as a small press publisher or writing. His book about hiking Vermont's Long Trail, Forest Under My Fingernails, remains in print along with several slender volumes of poetry and prose. A narrative about his brief sojourn in the Alaskan bush will be released soon. He lives with his wife, Judy, in St. Albans, Vermont.
